About

Peter B Staples has always been drawn to the emotional potential of interiors—how shifts in light, form, and atmosphere can redefine a space, shaping how people move, feel, and connect within it. A former film student turned designer, Staples channeled this sensitivity into Blue Green Works, the Manhattan-based studio he founded in 2020 and continues to lead as Creative Director.

Since its inception, Blue Green Works has established a confident point of view rooted in cultural fluency and innovative craftsmanship. Its collections blend a reverence for design history with personal influences ranging from beach towns and athletics to rock music, tattoo design, and contemporary art. The studio’s work is defined by visual simplicity, clarity of construction, and a belief that good design should be lived with—not tiptoed around. At its core is a sense of sociability: each piece is designed to carry a distinct personality and strong allure, while remaining in dialogue with its surroundings.

This ethos has guided the studio’s evolution. Working closely with specialized artisans, Blue Green Works explores distinctive surface treatments, glassblowing traditions, and modular forms—woven together through a distinct, architectural vocabulary. Each collection is conceived with adaptability in mind, designed to shift in tone, scale, and energy depending on context. This built-in flexibility fosters a quiet ease, allowing the work to feel at home across a range of environments—embodying a design language that shifts gracefully between residential, hospitality, and retreat spaces.
